I have a 99 Suntracker that was powered by a 1996 Force 50 that I replaced with an 81 Johnson 90. Just got it installed and all the wiring tied into the stock harness as well as the control box and cable ran. Motor runs great and idles good, but I have two issues.

First one is...does anyone have a guide to rigging the shift and throttle cables. I have an older Shipmaster control box with individual shift and throttle handles. Just need a quick guide on proper rigging.

2nd one is my tachometer is not working. I have not adjusted the dial on back for the pulse/rev yet as I did not know what the correct setting was. The guy I bought the boat from didn't have a tach and apparently he got this motor from another guy. There is I bit of rigged up wiring I think might contribute to it. At some time, someone tapped into the white wires that feed into both CDI's and ran it out of the cowling with an additional ground off the block. Now I don't know if something is messed up in the original wiring and they improvised or what. So... what do you think? Is this their idea of a tach signal? And if so, can I use it. Or is there something else wrong with the stock tach pickup. Pictures to show you what I am talking about..
