Im looking at doing the same thing. How hard was it to install? And did it break the bank?

Re: Just finished

What kind? Will it burn other fuels.... corn?

I have been considering one but I think I will install it in the basement and tie it in to all my forced air duct work.

Pellets here are now $289/ton.

St. croix Revolution, it's multi-fuel, pellets, corn, rye, switchgrass. Put it in the basement, tied into existing hot air ductwork. Took most of two days to install, me and a friend, really not difficult but frequently needs 4 hands. Plus, we're both getting old, had to take lots of smoke breaks and the occasional beverage. Unit was about $3500 in June when I bought it, another $500 or so for pipe, ductwork, etc. Bought pellets same time, 4 ton @$225 / ton.

Also considering an alternative fuel heating device. Although I an not sure if I want to haul or store a ton or so of pellets/corn/whatever.

Also how does this unit heat the house when the power goes out? Obviously, the furnace blower won't work.

Re: Just finished

Have the hose ready. Connect all hoses to make a long one just in case. Best of luck!
