Not really my first boat, my first is an 8' hydro that hasn't seen the lake in many years.

I just found a super deal on a 1995 Stingray 19' with a Merc 140 I/O. Single owner fresh water boat, no rot in the floor or tears in the seat, but needed a lot of cleaning. Well, three days after I got her home she's ready to go into the water.

Here's some before pics. This is how it looked when I picked it up

I had won a Four Winns horizon 200 on ebay the week prior and drove from Buffalo NY to Boston MA to pick it up, and it turned out that the owner was a little less that forthcoming about the boat's true condition. It had definatly been abused and uncared for. It was a long day and a long drive. I was dissappointed about not having the boat, but I didn't want a lemon either.

On the way home I stopped off at the Great Sacandaga lake to visit with some family and found this one. What's the old saying, when one door closes another opens? I bought it a few days later and picked it up this past Saturday. Best part about it was the price. I think this boat will serve me well.

Hope to see you all out on the water.

Ryan

Looks almost new! Nice find! I'll never understand why people let their boats get into rough condition in the first place. Better deals for us though!

Very nice job with the find, and with the cleaning job! How much did you get her for? She looks great now after all the TLC- I am sure it will provide you with years of fun.

Good looking ride!

By the way: If you come this way anytime soon, bring your cleaning kit, my boat could use some of your elbow grease!!!:D

Again, I am going to have to agree with Tash. Beutiful job, But means nothing if there are other unforeseen probs. or preventable probs. from not being properly maintained. when our boat is happy, Then we are happy. Keep up the good work she looks good, apply the same effort to the engine and drive and you'll have some thing to really be proud of. Good luck and have fun & Be safe!! Happy boating !! PS: I have seen a few beuitiful boats getting towed, while I was Waven Bye.:)

The mechanics were all serviced last year (oil and filter, gear case oil), but I will be doing everything over again just so I have peice of mind. I'm not sure what condition the impeller o\is in, but it's cheap enough to replace. The exhaust bellows is in good shape, no dry rot or tears.
