Well, the 1971 50 horse Johnson on the Lund (elec shift of course) is really driving us nuts. The control needs to be completely torn down, rewired, and possibly everything replaced. We also *think* there may be something wrong with one of the elec shift solenoids, and they don't make them anymore, so even if they work now, we cannot get more for when they die. So, on Craigslist, we found a 1979 55 mechanical shift Johnson. He was asking 550 for it. While I was gone, dad decided to talk with him a bit, and brought the motor home. We traded our old .357 magnum and 200 bucks for it. The pistol itself may have been able to sell for about 150, with the amount of use it has had. But, the motor comes with EVERYTHING. The boat he had it on had a rotten transom, so he unbolted the motor, and took a chainsaw to the console. So, we have steering cables, control cables, a few odd switches, steering wheel, and a rather new tempo 11 gallon plastic gas tank. And half a fiberglass console.
Plus another outboard stand, which is better than the one we have, due to the ease of moving it around.
