Hi everybody,
First time boat owner here.Just recently purchased a 1989 Bayliner Capri 1902 w/125 Force. The boat is in EXCELLENT shape minus the faded blue striping/sticker on the exterior. The floor is SOLID,the transom is SOLID,the interior in 9 out of 10 and the engine looks to have been bought in "89 and stored since '90 ...spotless,but the original owner said he used it every season since new!I have a boat load of friends with boats and hose newer efi yamahas and mercs and johnsons etc and they love the Force. They say it is sooooo much easier to work on for a dyi'er.The only thing I hate is when your toting it to the docks you get the boat snobs looking down at you because it's a Bayliner/Force.For me,I love it.The engine runs mint and it's like working on a lawnmower lol.Why the snobbiness....?Just put YOUR boat in and let me put MINE in...period.Reminds me of the
Glock snobs looking down on all other "inferior"guns for no other reason than there's is called Glock.Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself.

PS Yes,I DO have manuals, got them on my computer in pdf if anyone needs a copy.Got the original US Marine 85-125 manual, the Clymer manual and the Bayliner manual.

PSS LETS GO PATRIOTS AND REDSOX!!!!!!!!!!:D

Reminds me of the

Congrats on the new boat! You're going to have a blast ... especially if you like to tinker. There are lots of DIY projects you can do.

Snobs are everywhere. Don't let them get you down.

Welcome to Iboats and the boating world. Snobs, don't think twice about them, as FlashJim said they are everywhere, and there is nothing we can do about that. Just think of the people sitting at the fishing pier, that would love to have a boat like yours.

Thanks guys!I know it shouldn't bother me,it just sucks when you 6 and 4 year old here it and turn and look you dead in the eye and say"why are laughing at our boat,is it gonna sink"?But I hear you guys.Jim,hell yeah I like to tinker!Should be fun.General, never thought of that before I'm SURE one of the 50 people fishing from the dock would LOVE to have my boat! Thanks again guys!

It's a fact of life. No matter what you have, someone will pull up next to you with something bigger and badder. I grew up around cars and that was always the case. You'd be amazed at the respect you get for having the cleanest and most detailed version of whatever you have. Clean it, tune it, enjoy it.

This is your 1st boat. Key word there is "1st". Use this one to learn everything you can about maintaining and operating it safely. You'll find out what you like and don't like about boats and you'll know what to look for in your "2nd" boat.
