Still confsued, is a 2003 Merc 50 hp EFI powerhead a Yamaha product? Are there dates to go by with diferent size engines?

The engine is Yamaha based, but is built by Merc. Same with all of the under 115hp EFI 4 strokes.

The tuning, exhaust and gearcase is better with the Mercury product.<br /><br />Mercury 90hp is the Yamaha 100hp<br /><br />The Merc 90 out performs the 100hp Yammy because of the before mentioned reasons.<br /><br />TMD
