Can someone provide some installation tips and perhaps pictures ?
( I'm not worried about the electrical just how to get it mounted on the bow)

Thanks

here's mine, and i love it. rubber washer go between deck and mounting plate, to protect the deck and works as shockabsorber, also seals the holes. i use the key fog, exclusively, only use the foot control once.

Thanks for the time to take and post the pictures !
I didn't get the key fob yet so I guess that will be my next purchase :)

it's so sweet. i have the center console, and can walk anywhere to fish, and control from there. i love not having anything on the deck to trip over.

That's for sure :)
What size of wire did you use ?
I need to run about 16'. I'm undecided if I should use 6 or 8 gage

I love mine too. Just used it every day for a week while on vacation. Man, it is nice to fish from anywhere in the boat while controlling it with precision.
Here are some photos of my W 45 installation. tashasdaddy has been a big help to me with mine as well.

You can go to Motorguide's website and download the owner's manuel, it has an installation guide.

I used 6 guage duocore bonded and shielded marine wire from Cabella's for my w55.

The keyfob is great.

Re: Just purchased w45 trolling motor - installation

Thanks guys :)
I should have it by Friday.
Ended up with 16' 6 AWG booster cable since nothing else was available.
I can't find in the manual where it hooks up to the unit it self.
Also did some reading and I'm confused if I can run it of the main battery
or if 2nd battery is mandatory. I would rather stick with one. ( Yes my motor would start without problems with pull cord if I drain it all the way down)
I also got Minn Kota on board charger (MK106)
