just got my alt. conv. kit and i took off my harmonic balancer and removed the stator like it said to do. My ques. is when i removed the h.balancer and stator all the magnets were on the stator, do i need to take these magnets and put them back on the h.balancer or can i put the balancer back on w/o the magnets??

Suggestions and answers are greatly apprecitated

The stator is the inside piece, the magnets should be glued to the flywheel/front pulley (what you are calling a harmonic balancer) not the stator.
If you removed the stator, and the magnets are actually ALL still in the front pulley, then just put the pulley back on, nothing else required. Use an installer per the manual DO NOT even think about hammering the pulley back on the crankshaft.

No don't glue them back in. Leave them out. Put the pulley back on. Balance is the deal here not chargeing.

Did you have any trouble getting your harmonic balancer off? I was going to take my starter off, but didn't know if there was an easier way. My starter is a little difficult to get to the bottom bolt.

you have to use a puller, its the only way....used a bunch of washers once we bottomed out of threads... took a little while , and its hard on the hands

I am having trouble just getting the bolt loose to get to the point of using a puller, I should have been more clear about what I was struggling with...sorry about that!
