Just replaced Merc w/ Evinrude...have question

When the 1992 Merc 115 was on the boat I could adjust the tilt from three places on the boat. Now that I have a 1995 150 Intruder (along with another control box) installed I can only control it from the throttle and the engine itself. I want to wire up the tilt control that's located in the bow as well. Would this be done in the control box?

Question #2: Most of the time I end up having to jiggle the key to get the engine to turn over which has to be either a bad connection or loose wire in the control box. When it's acting up it just clicks as if the battery was dead. Should I order a new ignition switch? If so can someone recommend a good supplier? All I know about the control box is that it's white and has "OMC" in bold letters on the side of it.

Thanks

Your tilt/trim system has three wires.

Blue=UP
Green=DOWN
Red=COMMON (positive)

Your control handle has a wire hanging down from it. Inside that cable are the three wires. Or you can find those three wires, back at the engine.

Check your negative battery lead, at the engine block. It can cause the problems you describe.

It is possible that you have a bad key switch. Complete assy, with 2 new keys: 508180. Just over $ 30. Should be a plug-in model, once you split the control box halves. Have you checked the starter solenoid?
