I just replaced a broken shift cable on my 1996 Force 120 motor. Had problems installing it and it now won't shift into neutral. To install it, at the motor, I could not fit the barrel into the its holder unless the motor was shifted into forward. The manual says to install the cable with the motor in neutral. However, the barrel won't reach if you do that, even if I move the barrel around the threads. It's not even close. I know there's a way to adjust it I just can't figure it out. Any tips?

No notches that I can see. I tried again tonight. I put the control handle in neutral position. I put the shift actuator in neutral. I put the cable barrel in the cup and it still won't reach no matter what I do. I know this has got to be something easy that I'm missing. Anybody have any ideas?

Here are some pictures of it. http://s563.photobucket.com/albums/ss73/kinggabbo/

I'm not sure if they're good enough to see what's going on though. The first two are taken with the control handle in the neutral position. Notice on the first pic that the cable won't even reach the shift actuator.

Other pics are of forwards and reverse. Let me know if I need to take some better pictures. Thanks!
