Thanks to all the knowledgeable folks who post answers here.
I recently changed my U joint bellows, shift cable bellows, and shift cable; and drilled and plugged my gimbal housing to tighten up my steering, using the service manual and advice I picked up here. While it was apart I also sandblasted and repainted all the drive parts. It all went pretty smoothly considering it was my first time doing this work on a B3. Went for a flawless shakedown cruise on Sunday and it runs (and looks) like new. No more wander and no more worries about 7 year old bellows failing and sinking my boat.
I bought the hinge pin tool, the water hose reatiner tool, a 1" NPT tap, and Imade/customized a couple of other necessary tools for steering lever/swivel shaft work. If anybody in MA/ME or NH needs to borrow said tools, I can lend them out.
