Did the watertight test for my JB Weld repair on my Sea Nymph. No leaks!

Tide is going out until 12:30 and I want to wait till I have a couple of hours of the incoming tide before taking the boat to the water. Gets REAL shallow around here at low tide!

Will post updates after my return!

SUCCESS! The maiden voyage was a blast!

I am positively THRILLED with the performance of my little 14? 5? Sea Nymph boat and 25hp Mercury! Started right up, ran like a champ and is FAST for it?s power and loading.

Went out on the water today with my 2 young neighbors who are so helpful out here in the country. Justin is the older one, Steven is younger. Great kids.

Here are a few pix of today?s first trip.

Running at speed

Yes, there were a couple of minor glitches, which will be addressed post haste.
1. Both bunks came loose after launching the boat. One floated completely free but the other was held fast with duck tape! LOL! Fortunately, we had a full roll of electrician?s tape and ?re-secured? the wooden bunks to the mounting hardpoints. I?ll be repairing/replacing the bunks quickly.
2. At retrieval, the winch line (rope) snapped as I cranked it tight. A temporary re-tie was done and I?ll clean that up tomorrow. At some later point, I?ll replace the rope with webbing style stuff.
3. Minor seepage around a few rivets. We were on the water for over 2 hours and only about a half pint of water came in. JB Welding those soon!

That?s IT for issues! The motor worked flawlessly and I couldn?t be happier. Estimated speed was 25-30mph with all three of us aboard.

No, we didn?t catch any fish. Heh heh.

I am one happy camper!

Near-term future plans:
Mount the trolling motor up front.
Find and mount a fishing chair for up front.
Replace bilge and baitwell pumps.
Mount some new rod holders.

Long term plans include a paint job and adding other accessories.

It was a GREAT day today!

Nice ride...Please invest in some PFD's...God forbid something happens and one or more are thrown from the boat... They make em comfortable to wear ALL the time.

They're on there, we just didn't wear them that day during the video recording. I was actually sitting on a throwable cushion. Normally, I do wear a PFD whenever under power with the "big" motor.
