Couldn't believe my luck today, I was showing my boat off to prospective buyers, had 3 come and look at it and they were all happy with the old girl Chrysler. So I had it in the old esky for running and flushing. Last person left so I emptied the esky then attempted to lift the motor. It went very slow then stopped then nothing. Just my luck and I still don't know how, but moisture has gotten in from the top and rusted slightly around the brush stopping the brush from springing in and out and causing it to heat up there. I found some insulation on the negative had burn through also from the heat.
I suppose I will have to test to ground now to make sure the windings are grounded. Also when taking the top off the old brown wire breaks (of course) these are pressed and is it possible to solder them. Last time this happened, I took it to a motor rewinder who fixed it for me, hopefully he can do the same this time.
Motor started first time every time in front of the 3 different prospective buyers, just my luck for this to happen
