You know it seems like just yesterday.<br /><br />Raising three boys has been a challenge beyond belief.<br /><br />It all started with <br />"Who put the cheetos in the VCR"<br />"Who put the bicycle behind my truck"<br />"Who put the cat in the dishwasher"<br />"Who put the bluegill in Moms aquarium" That one single fish ate over two hundred dollars worth of imported fish.<br /><br />I remember having to pack everything up for our weekend outings. Cleaning up coke and gummie worms from my truck seats. Some type of smell coming from the kids end of the travel trailer. <br /><br />Oh my goodness I miss those days. Now we just go to the lake and wish the kids were there with us. Sit back relax and enjoy the sunsets on the lake. <br /><br />Talking with my boys for many years about safe sex has worked well, but now that they are grown and gone I wish I had a grandson and or Grand daughter. I would gladly clean up anything or repair anything for them to be here again.<br /><br />I called my oldest son on saturday only to get his voice mail. It said " Hi I'm on Lake Fork right now and I have turned my phone off to avoid scaring the fish -leave a message". I did teach him that one.<br /><br />If you do not have a video camera - GET ONE.<br /><br />Value every second with your children because TIME DOES FLY.<br /><br />Just a message from an OLD FART !!!

Re: Just Yesterday

good post foo, i have been recording my 2 boys with digital video since day 1. it was my oldest boys 1 yr birthday recently. i took a all the footage and edited it on the computer and made about a 10 minute movie complete with music, titles, effects etc. we played it for the family and friends at the party and everyone loved it! how cool will it be when my kid is older to be able to look back and see what he looked like and did when he was younger. gotta love technology.

Hi, Foos.<br /><br />We didn't have camcorders when mine were growing up. . . 3 girls and one boy, but we had wonderful times that I treasure.<br /><br />Now my #2 daughter is a Grandmother!!! I have 8 grandsons and 1 grandaughter plus, of course a great grandson.<br /><br />Time will creep up on you, guys. Treasure and preserve every second. Those people are your immortality. :)

Re: Just Yesterday

I agree with everything said about cherishing the moments. Today two of my daughters and two grand children and I spent a few hours on the lake swimming and cruising about. It was a good time. I miss them, 2 boys and four girls, being small and the fun we had but I am also glad that they are chasing the little ones around now....I can just watch! :) Boxes and boxes of pictures, cassette tapes of little voices, video tapes of plays and family get togethers, home made cards....we are getting ready to have a picture party, where we will go through the boxes and they can pickout the ones they want....after I get mine anyway. :D
