Haven't actually compared any side by side, but my feeling is no they won't fit. Pretty sure the base pattern was changed. I do know for sure they take a different base gasket.

Re: jw 3hp powerhead swaps

The 4hp is quite a lot different motor. 1967 was the last year of the integrated tank model. 1968 was the last year of the 3hp, but they also made it an entirely different design too. The same with the 4hp. They changed the shrouding and beefed up the midsection. The integrated tank was discontinued after 1967. The 1967 model was pretty much unchanged from 1952. As a matter of fact, the basic desin in the ojder JW's was derived from the earlier HD model. There's a lot of similarities with the appearance of the HD and JW, eventhough everything under the shroud is completely different. So, your 1967 JW is a design that's pretty much the same appearance that has been in production since 1941. LOL 1968 and newer, was a different animal.

Yup, that's not bad compression. Should be okay. My '53-54 Lightwin runs 75psi and 80psi, and it runs like a new motor.

The '58 JW-14 in my center picture had 60psi on both cylinders and ran great. Don't worry, you'll do good with what you have. Just tune that baby up and it'll last for years.
