Hello all...been a lurker here for quite sometime. There are quite a few individuals with some real knowlwge on this board...
I have a boat that was a victim in the hurricane and am now rebulding it...rebuilt my golf cart, and jetskit and am ready for the boat...
It is a 1986 Aquasport sandpiper 22. It had a 1999 Johnson Ocean Pro 200 on it when it went under...it was under the storm surge for about 2 hours...it floated on the trailer until it got stuck under my brother in laws house, which is a house on stilts, then it sank...it was a couple of hours before the storm surge receded. We didn't get to looking at the motor for weeks, so we figured it was a loss and gave it away...my brother in law pressure washed the boat and tried to get all the mud out of the hull he could...drained the gas out, and there wasn't much water in it, but am going to disassemble the fuel tank this weekend and clean it...have purchased another 1999 Johnson 200 Ocean pro with all cables, gauges and binnicle control...
my question is how difficlt is the installation of this motor, and do you think the original cables might be okay...Is there anything I should look out for? I ordered a clymer manual for this thing so hopefully will have enough info to help...any input on this situation would be appreciated...
thx
