Re: Keel Protection

I read somewhere about someone taping it off and painting Plasti Dip on it. Would like to hear from anyone who has done this, seemed like a good idea.

Here is their website http://www.plastidip.com/

i'd go with the keel gaurd before the plastidip. while i've never read about using plastidip for that purpose. i have used it on a few tools and usually after use it will eventually start to come off. corse that's applied to tool steel, not glass. but i still think i'd go keelgaurd first. as that's what a keelgaurd is designed for. protecting the keel..

Re: Keel Protection

I've gotton a few opinions on the keel guard strips, a few people say that sand or dirt will work its way into the edges and make it look dirty and if you remove it to replace with new material you'll pull the gel coat off. One guy says he uses an old piece of carpet. Don't they make some kind of blanket or sheet for this purpose
