keel roller replacement

My keel roller is spilt and the pin is rusted and it has caps on it and wont come off its 5|8 would A 5|8 bolt work as a pin.

Seems like it. I'd be concerned about the threads chewing up the roller though. You can always buy a new pin or a steel rod & drill holes through it for cotter pins too.

thanks superbenk maybe get a 3|4 bolt and take the threads offand use a lock nut with the teflon in the treads.

I wouldn't use anything BUT a bolt! Grade 8 with a locknut and fender washers on both ends. I use sleeved rollers and the rollers wear out before the sleeves.
