Keelguard - Keelsheild for Hurricane?

Has anyone applied a Keelguard or Keelsheild to their Hurricane? I tend to beach my boat a fair amount, and I'm seeing some scuffing and scratching of the keel. There are a couple of strakes that the guard would need to go over. Just wondering if anyone else had applied one, and if there were any problems.

Thanks!

Ernest I think if you search you'll hear a lot of good things about them. The only negative I heard I believe was removal (you'd simply want a re-apply a new one if damaged) as I think once they're on, they're on for good and little messy to remove.

I've been considering one myself.

I have one on my FDGS 202 and it does help with saving the hull when beaching. Pretty tough stuff too, I really don't see much wear on it. Unfortunately I didn't put it on, but the guy I bought it from said he made sure he had room to work and took his time. His brother assisted him so I'd guess some help would be good. He did a great job and I'm real glad he installed it, no doubt it works.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to give it a try once I decide on which brand to use. I was concerned about getting it over the strakes, but I contacted both companies and they said no problem. I'll report back after I have it installed.
