Rebuilt the carbs on a 87 Evinrude VRO and its doing the dame thing it done before.

Wont start, when I pull the plugs there wet with gas.
I can clean the plugs and it will try to start. Use a torch and burn off the gas.

Pull the plugs after cranking a bit and soaking wet again( The bottom plug is the wettest)

Anyone know what is happening?

Thanks Mike

Hello,
I would check to see if you have spark to all three spark plugs and if not the common between all three is power pack but make sure your kill switch on your remote control box up front is engaged with the clip in it and your throttle lever is in neutral position. Did this just happen or does it crank up fine as before? Let us know what you find out. Take care, Bob

Hello,
I just re-read your post and it said it is doing the same thing it did before after you rebuilt the carbs. I would buy a spark tester and test spark at each of the spark plugs if none of them are firing your power pack might be bad. Let us know, Bob

Got good spark on all cylinders ( Used spark checker)and lanyard is in.

The plugs get very wet after I try to start, like I said if I clean them dry it will try to start .

To wet to fire

I know this might sound odd, but have you checked your priming system? Disconnect it and watch flow when cranking, could be passing fuel when not supposed to. Just thinkin.

Does it backfire at all in your attempts to start it ???
Good gas, air, compression and a good spark = explosion.
Timing could be way off maybe ??
Did it used to run alright and then suddenly happened ??
