I just bought another used boat and what impressed me the most was not the boat as much as how the owner had kept a running record of everything ever done to it. The owners manual for the boat had several blank pages and he used them for record keeping.
Thinks like having changed to electronic ignition, differnt props he has used and their results, a carberator change along with all info needed for a rebuild kit should I need it, when he replaced the raw water pump impellor (and part numbers) , sparks plugs used, fuel filters, oil filter, and any other "consumable". All part numbers and where he boaught them were also written down.
Of course he also had all the times it was seviced, witherized, etc.
I was so impressed I didn't even quible and gave him his asking price! Something we should all think about as we maintain our boats because we all know that at some point we will be selling it.
