Did a www on Mercury Enertia Propeller. Came up with a thread from Yachting Mag (as I recall) that said something about X7 metal that no one else had for this prop which is the reason why it's so special.

They also mentioned aluminum. Is the Enertia an aluminum prop?

Thanks,

Mark

Negative on the O/B!!!!! This is a GREAT prop for sterndrive use as well....
Mark, the mention of aluminum has to do with the total weight of the Enertia SS prop...about the same as aluminum.
BTW....I have MORE Enertias to play with now!!!!:|

Thanks. I like that. Maybe it will reduce my "clutch chatter".

So where are they being sold?

When are you going to be through "playing" with them and post some data? d:)

Re: Kenny.....Emertia question.

Well looks like they left me out in the cold. Bet all those props in vipzach's thread are for 4.5" dia housings; like on the V6 and up. Mine is a little puke 90 hp with a 4 1/4 dia gear box.

Oh well, maybe someday my little engine will grow up and can run with the big dogs......meanwhile it's stay on the porch. :%

Come on Kenny, can't you just take a week off your real job and go test all those props for us?;)

I am anxious to hear all the results and if one will work on my little 3.0. I am putting on my smart tabs next week and will be starting to look for a new prop after that!

Re: Kenny.....Emertia question.

Beings the Enertia is a Merc product, I don't believe there is any contract between iboats/Merc, so they won't be sold here. As far as I know, they will be a Merc dealer only item.
Crownie, I still have several props to run yet, compile all the data and then send it to each manufacturer first. When they tell me I'm clear, just like last year in the prop forum, all props and numbers will be posted.

I saw an Enertia today. It certainly is an interesting looking prop. It was on the dealers boat. He said he'd let me try it on my boat tomorow if I run into him at the lake.

I don't understand how, but I ran a 20P Enertia today and the numbers are better than a 20P Raker....

Wow - I was thinking the other day that it looked a lot like the Raker...

Tail Gunner - I bought mine for a very good price on E-Bay Motors.

Re: Kenny.....Emertia question.

I run a 20" Raker, the Enertia I was supposed to test was also a 20"

Crowie, the blades are quite a bit different than the Raker, Smaller diameter but the blades look bigger and the hub is longer.

Re: Kenny.....Emertia question.

I guess I can talk about this here, since iboats doesn't sell Merc...

Yes, it was a dealer named Buddy's Wholesale Boat Props. Just go to Ebay Motors and search Enerita.

It was about $474 incl. shipping.
