I have a 1999 trophy w/a outboard. I have a kicker bracket on there with a 9.9 evinrude the problem is the kicker bracket keeps jumping around when tow or not using it the water . it must be causing stress on the transom ? I have to tie it down . Any ideas what I should do ! Maybe a sold bracket?? Thanks

Sure IS causing stress. Maybe the bracket is worn out. Maybe a cheap one.

I have the ultimate bracket and it doesn't bounce one iota. AND, I also have a cleat installed on the aft deck and the motor is firmly bound with a strong line.

One of my other boats has a fixed bracket (not retractable) and that works fine, but I still have the motor secured with a shaft and turnbuckle when in the up position. No way for it to bounce.

Regardless, unless you engineer the system right, the manufacturers all recommend no highway travel with the motor attached.
