KICKER MOTER?

READING THE FORUM I FEEL THAT MY "NEW" FORCE 125 O/B MAYBE A DISAPOINTMENT AT A BAD TIME AND PLACE.<br /> Soo the concept of a kicker has been mentioned. what constitutes a kicker on a 19 ft bayliner and where would i mount it, the engine well is filled with the 125?<br />thanks. walter

Remember.. this is a trouble shooting forum, and you only read about problems, not praise on here.<br />I have read the posts too, and would not say that a Force is neccessarily a bad motor. If you service it, and perform the required preventative maintainence, it will not let you down. Much the same as a Merc or any other brand.<br />There are a lot of people on iboats that have them and they have performed well.<br />You will need at least a 9.9hp kicker.. maybe even a 15 for that size vessel.Depends on where you are operating it.. offshore or sheltered lakes. A kicker is a good investment even if you have the latest and greatest main motor. A waterpump impeller can fail in any motor.

Based on my (limited) experience, I do have trust in my Force 90. But problems do happen with any motor, vessel, or operator. Depending on your location, another option besides a "kicker" may be an "unlimited" towing insurance from BoatUS for about $100 a year. (NOT a plug, just information.) Happy boating! :)

I bought MinnKota ripetide autopilot,wireless motor. $1000 but is great for fishing I get alot of jelous onlookers. It steers majic
