Hey,

My big motor is a 115hp 1998 Johnson. I have been having thoughts of getting a 1996 8hp that I am looking at.

It woudl be mounted right on my transom, is there and easy way to hook steering to the big motor?

I know on the older set up's, there was those EZ steer brackets on the back of the mid sections of the motors.

I was hoping there is an easier way if I go with this set up.

Thanks for any info!

How much $$$$ Do you want to spend? LOL.

There is an electric steering setup available for kicker motors. Basically you control your kicker with a hand fob, anywhere in the boat similar to a Minn Kota Co-Pilot.

I've got a Troll Master digital throttle control flyer in front of my face as I type this. Those seem like a nice addition to a kicker motor (or any motor you are trolling with).
Basically a dial adjustable throttle that is adjustable in small increments, and the throttle stays there.

With those two accessories, you could troll with the kicker motor while sitting up on the front deck and nobody else in the boat.
