kicker prop

got a 18hp Nissan 4 stroke, using it as a trolling motor on my 1998 26' Seaswirl,the boat basically weighs 5500 lbs. wondering how to prop this motor so I dont wear it out trolling this boat with it.

I'd get the lowest pitch prop available. That gets the rpms up so things don't carbon-up quite so bad. It also helps the fuel pump work.
