I read on another post that if you used a spare motor that you can steer the boat with the main motor, is that so? This would be used only for emergency get back to camp use. Main motor 35hp 18' pontoon, back up would be a 7.5. I already have 7.5 runs good.

In calm or near cam conditions there wouldn't be much trouble, but it wouldn't take much of a side wind to change that?

I suppose it would work if you can lock the kicker in a straight position. When I use my kicker, I use a 4 foot section of 2 inch pvc pipe that fits over the throttle grip of the kicker and I have throttle and steering controls. The pvc pipe stores under the seat when not in use.

Re: Kikker motor steering question

There are a few different brackets that can be used to steer a kicker from the helm thru a link between the 2 motors. Shouldn't be hard to find something that works.
