KILL SWITCH for 86 90HP L6

Rewiring an older Whaler with new ignition switch w/ correct color code pigtail leads and need to know which wire should be used through the normally closed lanyard kill switch. Diagram shows purple which would put power to accessories and the starter solenoid via the yellow/red lead but there is also positive power to the same terminal as well. Little confusing but I know its a simple item.
