Re: Kill Switch on an Old Outboard?

Purchase normally open kill switch *** 'y with lanyard. Wire it in parallel with current wire that grounds out powerpack from key switch. Either key or kill switch or both with stop motor. I would verify wiring with manual before snippin' and splicin' because I'm not familiar with your motor.
Good Luck

PS the expletive was "assembly" contracted. It's gettin' tough to live in this politically correct world we've created!!!!!!

Spike, I recently added a lanyard kill switch to my '79 rude. The switch I bought at Academy came with instructions that specified which wire from the control box to splice into based on make/model/year of motor. One other wire attached to ground - it was a piece of cake. I highly recommend it.

jtw
