I have no fire in the #1 cylinder. When I took it apart I noticed that the kill switch wire was mashed flat. Could this be the reason that the #1 cylinder is dead?

Re: Kill Switch

Rather unlikely for a kill switch/circuit to kill only one cylinder. Post Make-model number of your motor and we can get things started to resolve your problem.

Edit: Are you talking about your 1971..9122-r j06284??

Re: Kill Switch

Went ahead replaced wire under#1cyl coil, just in case.Had both spark plug replaced prior to any work.Found them to be cut at cam advance.the coil and points were in very good condition almost no wear on points and no cracks on coils look to be very new condition. Will just go ahead and order coils and tune up kit,and replace.I thought i would try a few things first.I can't think why the kill wire would be run under coil but that is the only place for it to fit.Any help would be great. Also armature plate brass bushing in poor shape might have to replace soon.If anybody has a good one or where i can order one.
