I have a 1984 Evinrude 35hp E35ELCRR I'm rebuilding and while doing this I have tried to repair some of the damage inflicted on the electrical system of this outboard, I have added a start switch, a fuse on the positive side of the charging system and solder new wires wherever needed. One thing I don't see anywhere is a kill switch, anyone have a wiring diagram I could use or give Me some advice to wire one for this outboard?

Thanks.

Re: Kill switch

Should be a stop button or a spot for one on the front of the engine cowling. OMC didn't start putting them on the tiller handles until 86 or so.

You should have a black rubber button on the front or a hole for one if the button was removed. If the button was removed you can put in a new safety lanyard kill switch pretty easy.

84, your motor should have electronic ignition. Tap into the black (ground) and black/yellow (stop circuit) wires for the kill switch.

Re: Kill switch

There are not many wires left with the original colors, which is the black/yellow wire maybe I can use a regular push button if I know which wires to connect it to.

Thanks.
