Kill switch...

The kill switch doesn't work on my millitary bast**d motor. Looking in the two expensive manuals I have purchased so far, it looks to be wired wrong. Both wires lead to the power pack and the manuals show one as being grounded to the block with the other going either to the power pack or directly to one of the coils. I have been flooding the motor to kill it and I'm sure that is one reason why I am getting a lot of smoke at startup. I took the switch off the tiller and tried pushing the button that fits up into the red button thingy and no luck. Also...it pee's water as soon as started unlike my 25 Mariner that has to warm up a bit before peeing..is this normal for 30-35 hp Johnsons?

Re: Kill switch...

It's either a 92-94 30 horse (as advertised) or a 95-96 35 horse (according to Johnson millitary model numbers) Tiller/manual start. It is the 2 cylinder 2 stroke..just got an OMC manual for 2 cyl to 30 hp from web wizard this noon and will study it tonight. It looks like some of them have two wires going to the power pack and then one coming from there to the coil.
