With summer and boating weather coming to a close, my girl and I are thinking of taking a weekend boating trip.
I have heard that Kingsley near Jacksonville FL is really nice but have never been there. Does anyone know much about this lake it looks really nice, just wonderin.
Thanks

it is a very nice lake, there are 2 privately own recreation areas, one is Stricklands- no alcohol allowed, the other is Kingsley Beach- alcohol allowed, use to get a little rough. white sand beaches, 1/2 the lake border Camp Blanding, and is undeveloped. it can get busy on a holiday weekend.

I moved away from Jax a while ago, but I heard Strickland's closed due to the old man dying and insurance problems for those that he left it to. Are they back open. We used to go there very weekend. Great place. BTW, if you are military, you can camp on Camp Blanding.

I checked with the Chamber of commerce and there is no access to the lake what soever now unless you are military of a member of the homeowners assotiation of the lake. Kinda sad cause I have heard such wonderful things.

very sad, when i was a kid, and up until they close, we had independent school bus drivers. on saturday, they would go to a school, and for next to nothing, take a bus load of kids, to Stricklands Landing for the day. it was great, a safe place to be as a kid or for the parent to have a free day, and not worry about the kids.
