We were fishing the lower sussaqhanna (sp) below the dam for stripers and we caught a 31 incher - at that time in the "gap" that you had to release them - we thought real hard about keeping it. It was a big fish - no one around etc.

But we let it go - 15 minutes later a warden comes up to the boat! That one fish could have been very expensive.

I always keep a copy of the state fishing regs publication in my boat. When there is a doubt we bring it out to find out. Also have a permanently mounted fish measuring "ruler" to check length.

Saved my butt more than once when checked by the local game wardens.
