Know What Year... What HP?

I have a Black Max V6 serial #4733860. The model number/horsepower stickers are gone. I've searched several websites for the year & HP rating, and it appears to be a 1977, but is it 150 horse or 175? Should I call a Mercury dealer or do one of you know which it is? Thank you.

That number does not appear for the 150 v6, only the straight 6.

Can't be certain but it's probably a 175.

Keith, A 1977 Merc 150HP motor was a distributor ignition inline six. The V6 of that year was likely 175HP.

Thank you all. It is supposed to be a 175 according to the man I bought it from, but without markings, you never know.
