This site is usually all about motor problems; let me tell you my sad story, turned happy.

I bought a new OMC-produced 200 Johnson just before they declared bankruptcy. The motor worked fine, but began slowing down after I'd owned it 10 months. The dealer initially attributed the problem to using non-OEM oil (see my posts on the subject!), but various fixes still didn't work. Owing to some erroneous advice and my own dumbness, it wasn't until the warranty was well past that I finally realized the problem was in the ignition, at which point I took it in for repairs.

Without going into all the details, let me say that Bombardier/Johnson really came through, and paid for the parts. The dealer (Hayden Island Yacht Center, Portland, OR) also kicked in for some labor, and I happily paid the rest.
The whole process took less than a week, I was treated very politely (they both return phone calls!) and I trust you can see I'm tickled to death. :D

There's no question in my mind that if Bombardier continues to do business this well that they'll bring Evinrude/Johnson back to top of the heap. As for me, I'm back to my fishing.

DHadley, I'm sure you don't remember my earlier posts on this, but it turned out to be a power-pack. It's academic now, but how difficult would this have been to do by myself, and with a engine manual? ;)
