l drive 125 HP carb cleaning? Clymer or Seloc

i was tryuing to clean my carbs but i took them off and am having trouble getting them totally apart to clean the passages, i cant get the float valve out (the float pushes down to stop the gas flow.) if anyone could help it would be appreciated. also which is the best manual to use?

Boater Dude,<br /><br />I'm planning to take my carbs apart next week. Mine is an 84 force 125. I have the Clymer manual and there was a nice instruction sheet in the carb kit. The Clymer manual I have is very generic, sometimes difficult to follow because it covers so many different engines but generally the information is there. I can't comment on Seloc because I haven't seen one.<br /><br />I'll let you know how it goes.<br /><br />Jeff

I have a Seloc and don't care too much for it. The pictures are not the greatest, and Roscoe had pointed out some errors with the specs listed. I've not seen the Clymer, but most of the posts I've read have a preference towards it vs. the Seloc.

thanx for the input guys, yea the carbs are freakin retarded i think, mine got so gummed up i just ordered another. let me know how u fair.

Boater dude, all you do to get that float out is drive the pin out that holds the float in and viola the float comes out. Drive the pin from the end without the knurls.

yea i got it now, thanx all, but the valve is my next hurdle, the valve that the float pushes down when it fills, that is proving difficult
