3 whats my staring position of the screws for full i have read 1 1/4 out then in a 1/8 at a time till stalls the back out 1/8 at a time
4 i messed with my timing trying to lower ides cause it was at 1000 in gear soooo when i do timing am i suppossed to unhook fuel so it wont start and set at 30deg while cranking wot

cause i tried to get timing set but it wont come close to the mark idle running in gear
also if it was you can you give me and idea of where youd adjust the linkage to the screws and what steps i should take to get this thing running right i was burning $12-$15 worth of gas in and hour

Bad gas economy is usually attributed to the wrong prop.
If you messed with the timing? Get a manual and do the static timing.
The air screws should be set at 1 turn out.
Then adjusted from there(after you set the timing).
Then motor warm, turn in till it coughs, bucks, stalls.
Then out 1/2 turn.
The idle should be adjusted on the side of the motor with the towershaft.

You are going to have to start from scratch now.
Timing and carb settings are critical, or you will burn up the motor.

Like jerry said, idle adjustment is not made on the carb.
Adjustments on the carb are for fuel/air ratio, which controls how much fuel (and oil) gets into the engine. Too much oil, poor performance, too little and you burn it up.

A factory manual, or a Clymer Force repair manual is needed. (not a Seloc manual)

Many pages of info to read and follow. Way to much to try to type here from memory.

$12-$15 of gas per hour is peanuts.

Your 125 hp is capable of using 12 gallons of gas per hour.

A 50 hp, 5 gallons per hour.

An 80 hp, 8 gallons per hour.

A 125 hp, 12 gallons per hour.

Get used to that, as its the nature of boat propulsion.

To save fuel, you run at 2/3 throttle and cut the fuel consumption in half.

And idle speeds are in gear, in water, running.

800-900 is about normal for these, otherwise they have a tendency to die when shifting into gear.
