L/U fill/vent plug sealing washers orientation

Replacing the washers on s Nissan NS-40D 2005 model
The washers are not the same surface finish on both sides.
My service manual has no mention of this....maybe too trivial....and neither does my owner's manual.

Does it matter which way these are installed?

Nope. They are punched from a sheet of fiber, and like metal washers, have both a concave and convex side. I usually put the concave side to the LU, and the crowned side to the screw head.
