If you suspect that the lower unit on you outboard is not the OEM part, how can you tell, I have reason to suspect that some one might had put a diffrent l/u on my boat prevois to my owenership.. any tips and suggestions to find out if they did so..

Someone may have changed the l/u on your engine but if it's working o-k, it shouldn't matter unless you think they changed the gear ratio. Is something wrong with it?

c/6

Hooty

Don' know which engine ya got but if the prop isn't spinnin' on the hub and it ain't cavitating (venting), that's about the only place high rpm are gonna come from. Just how high are the revs going?

c/6

Hooty
