Lack of usage with a Chrysler outboard

Hi guys, just want to ask, if I am not using my outboard much at the moment due to an injury to my neck, can I get away with just starting once or twice a week, or would I be better off storing it or your terms are winterising it? We hardly have a winter here, but lack of using it on the water is a concern at the moment.

Just leave it alone! It will start when you are ready. If you had a decent length cruise last time you used it, there is enough residual oil inside to protect it. I have bought engines laying around for years and had them start easily.

Oh, if you use gas with ethanol, you might want to drain the carb bowls. It can absorb water and cause corrosion pin holes in the aluminum bowl. I had that happen to my snow blower over the summer--don't know if it was one summer or more because the blower was not used for two or three years.
