I posted the message about the 80 hp mercury outboard being frozen.<br /><br />Should I be able if the motor is in nuetral be able to manually turn the flywheel on the top??
Yes, if the flywheel will only turn back and forth it is usally a rod, but in some cases it can be a main brg or scored cyl. If the plugs look good ck the lower unit drain, if run with no or low oil that will set up an engine, if it smells burned or looks grit seperate the lower unit from the engine to see which end it is---Bob
