Evening all, I am currently torn and have come here looking for some suggestions.

I am looking for an aluminum boat, preferably in the 14-17 foot range. Let me give a list below of what items I am looking for in this boat and hopefully you all can give me some suggestions.

I do local bass tournaments here in the south central PA, so I would need a boat with a decent live well.
Also since I fish the river I am leaning towards a 25/20 jet but I am not leaving the option of a tunnel prop (20 hp) out of the qestion.

The reason the 20hp is a must is becuase I also fish a local lake where maximum hp is 20. Most if not all of the other lakes are trolling motor only. So really the boat should be able to handle the weight of 2 deep cycle batteries and 1 starting battery.

For a console, I am leaning toward a stick steer just for the simple fact that I would like to be up front so a forward center console is also not out of the question..

Now some of the dealers I talked to are steering me away from the 25/20 jet since it really would not push the boat well, but I'm not looking for a speedy boat, I had that and got rid of it... Good bye triton :(

I have done some reasearch into some boats and sent some emails out to companies, but believe it or not, not very many replied.

Bascially I am looking for a aluminum boat with some casting decks/livewell that will fit the need.

On a side note, one of my favorites so far is the seaark forcast 156 but i do not like all the little live wells in it, it has 3 live wells totals but 2 of the 3 are like 8 gallons... Way to small, and I do not think you can customize the boat when they build it to have them removed and changed out to tackle storage or something like that.

Thank you all in advance for the suggestions.

Have you checked out G3, Alumacraft, and Tracker?

Tracker was the first one I checked out, I looked at their panfish at a local bass pro shops and well... It was really cheaply made, plus there was a little slope in the front of the boat on the deck that I do not think that I would like since I like to stand alot and fish and 2nd I emailed my local bass pro shops and they never replied. Instant "no thanks" on my part.

The G3's 165 PF is actually second on my list except I am looking more for raised casting decks. I understand that most likely I will not be able to get that in a panfish model but I am still looking.

The alumacraft models I looked at all looked like they had side consoles and no forward center consoles. Except the crappie model, but the livewell was only 10 gallons.

I have seen boats with all the things you are looking for but never in the same boat, what you want is almost a custom build, wioht the market down like it is they are only building boats that will sell, probably not alot of people looking for your combination of things.

You may have to find one that is close and modify it yourself.

I would agree with a War Eagle..... People use them all the time in Louisiana. They are a tough boat. I don't believe you could go wrong, or even be disappointed in that choice. The only other boat I have really seen that surpass it, is made by Rookie Boats... They custom build a boat to your needs and stand behind there work, but you will pay for that kind of workmanship. If your interested check them out...... http://www.rookieboats.net/
