Anybody boat on the Lake Clarke stretch of the river? I normally boat and store my boat down at Conowingo but I live in York. I've brought my boat home for the season (new baby coming soon :)) and was thinking of taking it out on Lake Clarke one night after work if I get the chance. What do I need to watch out for in this area? How far north can I go before I have to start worrying about hitting rocks? I'd be putting in at the Lock 2 boat access area. I'd rather not find out using the braille method!

Can't help ya either, my knowledge of the Susquehanna is very limited - jet outdrives from the Juniata to the Susque in H-burg. Other than that, I am lost - but congrats on the new addition! New boating buddies are always great!

Re: Lake Clarke / Susquehanna

Despite not getting an answer to my question my dad and I took the boat out on Lake Clarke two Friday’s ago. Baby came on Sunday :) Anyway, the boat ramp was nice and they had the hazardous areas on the Lancaster side very well marked out with buoys but I still don't know how far up-river we could go. So we didn't go up too far. The wind really kicked up while we were out there and we took quite a pounding. It was an absolutely beautiful day though otherwise and it was still nice to have gotten out and checked out a different boating destination if only for a short ride. Plus it only took me about 20-25 minutes to get down there versus an hour to get to where we normally go. Now I definitely have my hands full with my future boating buddy. I think he has some growing to do before then ;)
