Rex
I don't know where you live but when I try out new fishing areas for bass, especially on the big lakes like that, I would start out with the local bait shops and launch ramps where you plan on going. Get yourself a hydro chart of the area and focus on large rock piles, humps, piers, bridges, any place where the bass can locate to the "structure". Crawfish are their favourite food so find places that hold them, "ROCKS". Baits to use, can't beat a tube jig bounced down those rocks. Crank baits sized for the depth you are fishing and coloured for the type of bait in the area work well. Try these but pick up some magazines from people like In-Fisherman as they often have articles that describe fishing tactics and tackle very well.

Good Luck

Yes, SeaRay, I guess I was harsh.

He wasn't just asking for help, he was *****ing because nobody had any to offer, and playing "poor me, nobody will help"..

As long as he has been on this board, he should know better.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

It doesn't have to do with witholding help, SeaRay. Every single member of this board will help when he can, including Rex. That includes the Fishing Forum as well as this one. The only difference is subject matter.

What he should know better is not to bash his fellow members just because they didn't have any suggestions for him.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

Hey Rex
Like I said above. Ask the questions and do some reading. I can hardly say "Global Positioning Satellite" let alone own one. Heck I hardly ever use a depth finder, but I catch my share of fish. You need to learn the habits of the fish if you want to catch them. Getting a GPS location for a fishing hole that is good in July may not work for you in September. The fish have very distinct habits. You need to learn these first because the fish move around based on, available food, water temperature and clarity, breeding schedules, weather, time of day and a gajillion different other things. A GPS may help but try and learn the basics first.

Good Luck
Just My $.02 worth

Ahoy, Rex.

I did not have a bad day, or a bad night.

I do not dislike you and I am not angry at you.

We have both, you and I, been welcomed to this board and treated kindly. Any member has helped us when he could. We have both helped other members when we could.

When we can't help, we don't.

If we ask for help and nobody can help we aren't going to get any help.

That does not give us the right to attack our fellow members and accuse them of not wanting to help.

That's what you did. I was angry at what you did. I spoke my piece and as far as I am concerned that is the end of it.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

This topic has been moved from the engines motors section. Things are really starting to pick up in the engine and motors section and we continue to appreciate all you that help to answer so many questions and share your insight.

Please keep your topics in their rightful sections. Some of our other sections don't get as much action and if you need more information that what all of our members can provide we encourage you to also try other boards that might be better suited to what you are talking about.

If you have any info on small mouth bass as Rex requested please go to his original post by Clicking Here to answer since this thread is now closed.
