My fishing season has sucked so far, I don't have the time to spend to fish and I am learning a brand new lake. I used to fish back west in CA on the Bay Area Delta, used to fishing with Ghost Shrimp, Bullheads, and Bloodworms for Striper, Channel Cats and Sturgeon. Or if I went up to a lake for Rainbow Trout. Now I am back east and south living on Lake Norman, still trying to learn what everything out here likes. Not very familiar with using lures, so bass fishing has been kinda slow... Baits out here are different, besides the obvious nightcrawlers. Shads and minnows I have heard are popular for live bait fishing. I have caught some small crappie, nothing worth keeping and one small channel cat who was set free to live to be caught another day or eaten by a bass...
Anyone have any suggestions? Easy lures to use and try for largemouth/smallmouth bass? Spinners, jigs, chugs? Lake fishing for stripers? Any hints tips or suggestions?
Also about the only thing I have heard for lures out here is to use natural colors that the lake is over pressured for bass and they are weary of anything brightly colored or shiny.
