You guys have been more than helpful with this project. I bought this 06 tracker tahoe 4.3 carbed mercruise with a cracked block,I bought a bare block and have it ready to go back in,this block has ASE bolt holes for the bellhousing bolts and starter bolts and motor mounts,I have bought all new bolts .Does anyone see any possible issue I may have? I cant, although the starter bolts are thinner. This relacement block is 96+ with the balance shaft must be a early one.THANKS

I'm not sure of the question... did you go to the hardware store and buy new bolts from the bin? Did you buy hardened bolts? Did you buy an aftermarket kit like A.R.P.?

If you just bought "regular" hardware store bolts, then yeah, you might have a problem.

Plus, with the starter you definitely need the correct specific starter bolts - they have a knurled portion to help keep the starter aligned and in place.

Ayuh,.....

I Agree,.....

Either the Original bolts or a Bolt Kit.......

Hardware Store bolts really Don't belong in a Motor.....
