just picked up our 2011 larson.... loading it up with gear this afternoon and low and behold the stupid hull ski storage isnt long enough to fit a ski in.... how frustrating! who wouldve thought to take a ski into the showroom to check the ski storage compartment. i think it would fit but the floor door isnt long enough. what a bone head design... any thoughts on this? would love to find a way for a custom floor door to be cut in that was about a foot longer.

Oh.. I also have 1850lx, 2010, bought new 2 years ago, never tried to put skis in the compartment, have to try it... I've had other issues. Tach was off, shift interrupter wire harness disconnected causing it not to come out of gear, 2 technical service recalls, now have issues with EZ loader trailer. Not very impressed so far. Hope you have better luck...Hope you fine a way to extend the opening..

I've got a 2010 1850 LX. The opening is obstructed near the bottom but longer higher up. Stick your head in there and look towards the bow. I've fit skis in no problem but you have to guide them in properly. I also haven't had any issues besides 1 recall. My biggest complaint is the difficultly to plane with the weight of 4.3L engine and no passengers in the bow. Put a 200lb guy in the bow of the boat and it completely changes the ride. I've got a set of trim tabs but none of the local Larson dealers want to install them for me.

The ski locker on my '97 186 SEi isn't large enough for skis either. Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?

I put these on myself. Not a big deal. Search some threads...drill some holes...screw them in. Made a TOTAL difference in ride for me. I jump up on plane and can slowly cruise all day after adding them. I recommend these for any 18 foot owner with a 4.3. They make a huge difference in your boating day.
