I recently purchased a 1975 Larson All American 186 Bowrider equipped with a 302 OMC Engine, skiis and accesories. It is in pretty good shape for the age with a few gelcoat cracks in the top of the bow which I am going to be rapairing soon. The engine is almost spotless which indicates to me that a replacement or rebuild has occured so I came out pretty good on it.

I have been going over it with a fine tooth comb so to speak when I noticed that the there is some cracking in the gel coat around the bow eye and that the eye seems to be pulled forward about 3/16 of an inch which I believe could allow some water to leak through. The boat was delivered to me so I did not secure it to the trailer. This boat traveled about 175 miles only being secured by the bow eye and I am wondering if this may be the culprit on the damaged eye.

There appears not to be an access where I can reach the nuts on the eye so I may remove it and repair any glass that may need repairing. Would anybody have any ideas?
