Hi everyone. New owner of a 2012 Larson LX850. The boat sat dry for a year, we had it serviced and wrapped for the winter. This spring, we made sure all valves were closed, drain plug tight, etc. and put it in the water. The boat is taking on water while docked. It sat for 2 days, and when we ran the bilge pump, it pumped a full 1" thick stream of water for 13 seconds. Not quite sure how much water that is... half gallon, maybe more? I'm assuming this isn't the norm.

I can't seem to determine if the bilge pump is automatic? Regardless I need to get the leak found and fixed, but I'd really like to know if the bilge pump has a float that automatically turns it on once the level is high. The boat is 3 hrs away up north, so not exactly easy to pop in and run the bilge pump ever couple of days.

Any ideas where to look for the leak? Valves, drain, bellows?

Thanks,

Dan

Howdy Dan

That amount of water should not be hard to find where its leaking in. When the boat is winterized many plugs are removed and some hose clamps. Start looking around for a plug not reinstalled tight or a loose hose clamp.

As for the float switch, look for it in the bilge. It will either be a float by itself or combined with the pump. If you know where the bilge pump is go look at it and take note of what the label is on the side. Let us know what the label says. If you don't know where it is, turn the pump on and listen to track it down

Thanks for the response. We're going to take it out of the water today and inspect the drain and seals. If we can't determine it, we'll bring it to the dealer for service.

I'll see if we can figure out this bilge pump question too.
